The UMW Men's Swim Team beat Randolph-Macon, 145-117, on Thursday night in Ashland, Va. It marked the men's first win of the season.
Larry Almariento, AJ Green, and
Kyle Johnson swept the podium in the men's 1,000 yard freestyle relay. Almariento finished in first with a final time of 10:35.23, while Green and Johnson finshed second and third respectively with times of 10:50.83 and 10:53.66. Almariento and
Guenter Kryszon finished first and third in the 500 yard freestyle.
Zachary Cherry took home the win in the men's 200 yard freestyle, while
Jakob Robinette finished in third place, the duo racked up 12 more points to the Eagles' final score. Robinette would then go on to finish second in the 100 yard freestyle with a final time of 50.87.
Sam Roundtree won the 50 yard backstroke with a final time of 24.53 while Will Burkey finished third at a final time of 25.62. Roundtree also won the 100 IM (54.27)
Johnathan Zimmer (28.10) placed second in the 50-yard breaststroke while
Ihor Birioutchenski (28.82) finished third. The duo then went on place first and third in the 100 yard breaststroke.
Kyle Diederich finished third in the 100 yard butterfly (57.16).
Eli Polovchik won the 50 yard freestyle with a final time of 22.86.
Paul Datovech placed second in the 100 yard backstroke (55.42).
