The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision at 40th ranked Christopher Newport University on Wednesday in Newport News, Va. The Eagles slip to 6-6 on the season.

In doubles, the Eagles fell behind, 2-1, with the point earned coming from Andrew Cooper and Artis Hart at three, 8-3.

UMW gained singles points from Rishi Charan Shankar at one, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3, and Hart at four singles, 6-4, 7-5.

UMW will return to action next Wednesday when the Eagles host Salisbury University at 3:30 p.m.
