The 33rd ranked University of Mary Washington women's tennis team gained a big 5-4 victory over 22nd ranked Washington and Lee University on Wednesday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Courts. The Eagles improve to 8-9 on the season.

The Eagles scored wins at one and two doubles, as Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey gained an 8-5 win at one over Lauren Long and Gabi Moss, and Abby Moghtader and Rebecca Stepleman topped Izzy Koziol and Margaret Carlton at two, 8-3.

In singles, UMW dropped the first two decisions, before Kimmey gained a 6-2, 7-5 win at three to tie the team score at 3-3. Rebecca Stepleman gained a 6-4, 6-4 win at four over Grace Lorenz, and Hagino scored a 7-5, 6-4 win at two over Moss to clinch the match.

The Eagles will be back in action in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Tournament on April 29 in Newport News, Va.
