The University of Mary Washington women's tennis team defeated visiting Franklin & Marshall College, 9-0, on Sunday at the Hegmann Family Tennis Courts. The Eagles improve to 5-5 on the season.

In doubles, the Eagles breezed to a 3-0 start, with Amanda Hagino and Hana Kimmey winning at one, 8-2, Abby Moghtader and Rebecca Stepleman winning at two, 8-2, and Emily Beckner and Riley Smith winning at three, 8-4.

In singles play, Moghtader topped Cassidy Landau at one, 6-2, 6-0, Hagino defeated Mackenzie Sherman at two, 6-2, 6-2, and Kimmey defeated Rebecca Bellick at three, 6-3, 6-0. Stepleman topped Clara March at four, 7-5, 6-4, Beckner topped Hayley Bidwell at five, 6-4, 6-3, and Smith defeated Emilia Squires at six, 6-2, 6-2.

UMW will return to action on Friday, when the Eagles visit Denison University at 3:00 p.m.
