The 26th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team defeated Franklin & Marshall College, 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon in Lancaster, Pa. The Eagles improve to 6-3 on the season.

UMW started with a pair of wins in doubles, as Peter Leese and Rishi Charan Shankar claimed an 8-4 win at one, and Andrew Cooper and Brock Ladehoff won at three, 8-7.

In singles, UMW completed a sweep, with Charan Shankar won at one, 7-6, 6-3, Andrew Watson won at two, 6-2, 7-5, and Ladehoff won at three, 6-3, 6-4. Artis Hart won at four, 6-3, 7-6, Leese claimed a 6-4, 6-4 win at five, and Ryan Meyer won at six in a tiebreak.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday at N.C. Wesleyan College at 1:00 p.m.
