The University of Mary Washington men's swim team opened the 2023 portion of its schedule with a 148-114 victory at Catholic University on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles improve to 6-2 on the season.

UMW started the day with a victory in the 400 yard medley relay, as Alex Aung, Jonathan Zimmer, Larry Almariento, and Will Burkley touched the wall at 3:37.87. Zimmer took first in the 200 yard butterfly, at 1:57.22, and Burkley won the 100 yard freestyle, at 48.67. Sean Gitchell claimed the 500 yard freestyle at 5:00.14, and Almariento won the 100 fly at 54.16, as UMW claimed the meet thanks to strong depth.

The Eagles will be back in action on Friday, when they visit Marymount University at 4:00 p.m.
