#17 UMW Men's Tennis Falls at Johns Hopkins in Regular Season Finale

The 17th ranked University of Mary Washington men's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision at 21st ranked Johns Hopkins University on Monday, closing the regular season with a 17-8 record.

The Blue Jays took all three doubles matches, although none came easily. Hopkins won at one, 9-8, and at two and three by 8-6 scores.

In singles, the Eagles gained wins from Derek Hagino at four, topping Matt Sklar, 6-4, 6-2, and at five, as Joseph Brown won, 6-4, 6-3, over Justin Kang. Patrick Hughes fought hard at two in a 7-6, 7-6 defeat, and Ryland Byrd went three sets in falling at six.

The Eagles will now await a potential NCAA Tournament bid. The championships start on May 13.
