Fredericksburg, Va.-- The #21 University of Mary Washington women's tennis team fell to the #3 Blue Jays, 6-3, on Saturday. UMW took two of the doubles points, but Johns Hopkins took five of the six singles matches for the victory. The Eagles fall to 14-7 on the year.
Lindsay Raulston and Shelby Harris picked up a big win at one doubles over Amanda Austi and Hailey Hogan. The duo won 8-4. Alex Ritter and Alina Suyama also picked up a point for the Eagles at two doubles. Ritter and Suyama won 8-6 over Stephanie Rettig and Shannon Herndon.
Raulston was the lone Eagle to win in singles. Lindsay picked up a hard faught three setter, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 10-6 at one singles against Austi.
The Eagles are back on the courts in the CAC Tournament Semifinals. UMW earned the number one seed, and will face the winner of #5 York and #4 St. Mary's on Tuesday, April 22nd.
