The University of Mary Washington swim team wrapped up dual meet racing for first semester last night in Ashland, VA with a resounding win over Randolph-Macon College. The UMW women team were a perfect 11 for 11 in wins while the men were victorious in 8 of the 11 races. In a showing of the depth of talent the Eagles also recorded 13 1-2 finishes over the course of the meet.

On the women's side the Eagles started off with win a sweep of the 400 medley relay with Lindsay Ancellotti, Kristen Callahan, Amber Kerico and Meredith Thompson taking the win in 4:10.68) UMW was lead by junior Jessica Singer who recorded wins in the 1000 freestyle (10:58.98) and 50 freestyle (26.09). The Eagles also saw huge results from their first year class with Stephanie Hallock winning the 100 (55.63) and 200 freestyles (2:01.59), Hagy winning the 100 breast (1:10.37) and Katie Fago taking the 100 back (1:02.05). Other wins for the Eagles came from Juniors Callahan in the 400 IM (4:52.44), Elizabeth Lewan in the 100 fly (1:02.09) and Kerico in the 500 free (5:17.88). Ancellotti, Hagy, Brazier and Singer also combined to win the 400 freestyle relay.

The men started off with a 1-2 finish in the 400 medley relay with the team of Sean Mayer, Michael Perdue, Nick Eckhoff and Alex Anderson stopping the clock at 3:38.29. They followed that up with a 2-3-4 finish in the 1000 and 200 freestyle events. They recorded their first individual event win in the 50 freestyle as Anderson hit the wall in 21.66 and quickly recorded wins by first year class members Zach Eisig in the 400 im (4:26.43), Sean Mayer in the 100 fly (54.55) and Trent Roberts in the 100 free (50.70). After another 2-3-4 finish in the 100 backstroke, the Eagles saw Senior classmates Nick Eckhoff (500 free 4:50.23) and Peter Slattery (100 breast - 1:01.04) record first place finishes. In the final event of the night the Eagles again finished first as the team of Vance Solseth, Andrew Cole, Matt Garstka and Anderson took the 400 free relay in 3:17.31.

THe Eagles now have a rest weekend leading into the THanksgiving break and will return to competition at the Gettysburg Invitational to be held Nov.30-Dec.1.
