The University of Mary Washington men's tennis team jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles and held on for a 6-3 victory over 11th ranked University of redlands on Friday in Redlands, California. The Eagles move to 4-5 overall, while Redlands falls to 5-3.
The Eagles took doubles points as
Kaz Murata and
Evan Goff won at one, 9-8 (6),
Andrew Frisk and
Brian Hope at two, 8-3, and
Riley Baver and
Sam Wichlin won at three, 9-7. Wichlin won at three, 6-4, 6-1;
Will Apperson won at four, 6-4, 7-6 (2), and Goff won at six, 3-6, 7-6 (5), 6-4.
Mary Washington will take on nationally-ranked Washington & Lee University in Lexington on March 13.
