Rachel Summers Named to CoSIDA/Google Cloud Academic All-District At-Large Team

University of Mary Washington junior Rachel Summers has been named to the College Sports Information Directors' Google Cloud Academic All-District At-Large First Team, as announced Thursday night. Summers, a biology major with a 3.96 cumulative GPA, recently was named as the Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year in women's tennis, and will compete at the NCAA Division III singles and doubles championships next week in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes outstanding student-athletes in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and thirdteam (if applicable) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June. The Google Cloud Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada.

The Division II and III Google Cloud Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2018-19 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA Google Cloud Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
