The University of Mary Washington women's swimming team continued to roll through the 2018-19 season with a 203-59 victory over Salisbury University on Saturday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action at Goolrick Natatorium.
The Eagles started by finishing 1-2 in the 400 yard medley relay, with Mary Zagrobelny, Carley Vaughn, Julia Geskey, and Erin Whitesell taking first at 4:19.59, and Claudia Keller followed with a win in the 1000 yard freestyle at 11:04.90, as UMW finished 1-2-3, with Grace Nicolai finishing second and Cara Lowengrub third. Geskey touched first in the 200 yard freestyle at 2:00.20, just ahead of Macey Lynch and Callie Dunham, and Sally Burkley won the 50 yard breaststroke at 33.86, just ahead of Melissa Autry and Kait Luncher.
Whitesell won the 100 yard butterfly at 1:00.97, followed by Ingrid Dizon and Hailee Morse, Gartman won the 50 free at 25.55, just ahead of teammates Sydney Hall and Carley Vaughn, and Gartman then won the 100 free at 55.55, just ahead of Hall and Geskey. Megan Carney won the 100 breaststroke at 1:12.00, just ahead of Burkley, and Macey Lynch won the 500 at 5:29.48, with Dunham second and Keller third.
Kait Luncher won the 50 fly at 28.24, with Zagrobelny second and Burkley third. Vaughn won the 100 IM at 1:03.14, and Zagrobelny took second. The Eagles closed the day going 1-2 in the 400 free relay, with Dunham, Gartman, Zagrobelny, and Geskey winning at 3:47.87.
The Eagles will be back in action next Saturday at St. Mary's College at 1 p.m.
