UMW Volleyball Tops York to Improve to 4-2 in CAC Play

The University of Mary Washington volleyball team defeated York College, 3-1, on Tuesday night to improve to 4-2 in Capital Athletic Conference play. Set scores were 25-19, 20-25, 25-12, 25-12.

UMW was led by Kayla Crawford's 11 kills and Ellen Smethurst's 10 kills. Maggie Parrish had 22 assists and Courtney Guengerich added 11 for the Eagles. Parrish posted a team-high five aces.

Kaitlynn Wickersham had 20 digs for the Eagles, while Christine Tran had 12. Laura Gomez had seven block assists.

The Eagles will host Catholic University on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. for senior night. A coin flip will determine UMW's position in the CAC Tournament.
