Lorenzo Rodriguez enters his first season with the Eagles as assistant coach under head coach Corey Hewson. Prior to joining the University of Mary Washington Eagles, Lorenzo was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for Greensboro College Pride for two seasons.
In his first season at Greensboro College, Rodriguez helped coach the Pride to a 10-7-3 record, while going 5-6-3 in USA South Athletic Conference play before recording the program’s first conference tournament victory in six seasons.
In his second season with Greensboro College, Rodriguez helped coach the Pride to a 16-3 record, which set the school record for most wins in a season, while going 5-2 in USA South Athletic Conference, while breaking the schools offensive records set the previous year.
At the conclusion of the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the Pride had a total of six players named to the all-conference teams, while also having eight players lead the USA South Athletic Conference in goals, assists and points. The Pride also set program records in six categories including goals scored, goals per game, assist, points and points per game, in consecutive seasons while ranking third in NCAA Division III in goals scored two years in a row.
Lorenzo was two-year letterman at Jamestown Community College (NY) where he was a part of the Jayhawks historic era. During his freshman year his team won the schools first WNYAC conference title in 2009, while setting the school record for most wins in a season (12). Rodriguez also helped the Jayhawks to the school’s first Region 3, Division 3 Semi Final tournament appearance during his sophomore year, before graduating from JCC with an Associate’s Degree in Physical Education and moving on to receive his Bachelors Degree in Sport Management from SUNY Brockport.
