Sophomore Kelsey Carter (Richmond, Va., Mills Godwin) scored on an Erin Reynolds (Oakton, Va., Oakton) assist 3:09 into the game, and the Eagle defense made it stand up in a 2-0 victory over Methodist University on Saturday at the Battleground. The Eagles led in shots, 20-4, and had nine corner kicks to six for the Monarchs. Tina Brehm (Springfield, Va., Robert E. Lee) earned the shutout for the Eagles, making four saves, while Methodist's Sara Altman had 13 stops.
Mary Washington will host Alvernia College on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
