UMW's Kennedy, Kimmelman Named IWLCA All-Americans
University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse seniors
Catherine Kennedy and Allie Kimmelman have
been named All-Americans by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse
Coaches Association, as was released Wednesday night. Kennedy was
named as a second team selection, while Kimmelman was named to the
third team.
Kennedy closed her career as the program's all-time leader in
goals (299) and total points (387), scoring 62 goals and 17 assists
this year, as the Eagles finished 14-5 and advanced to the second
round of the NCAA Tournament. She was a four-time All-American for
the Eagles.
Kimmelman is the school's all-time leader in assists with 210, and
ranks second - only behind Kennedy - in career points, with 348.
She gains her third All-America award this season.
Both players will be recognized at the All-America banquet on June
16, and both will play in the National North-South Senior All-Star
Game prior to the ceremony.
