UMW's McRae, Wimmer Named to D3Hoops.com All-Region, Richmond Times-Dispatch All-State Teams
After leading the University of Mary Washington women's
basketball team to a 30-1 record in what was the best winning
percentage in school history, senior guards Jenna McRae
and Katie Wimmer continue to accumulate postseason
awards. Both were selected as second team all-region picks by the
website D3Hoops.com, while McRae was named first team and Wimmer
second team all-state small college division by the Richmond Times
Dispatch.
McRae averaged 12.7 points per game this year, and also grabbed
5.3 rebounds per contest. Wimmer was the team's leading scorer,
netting one more point than McRae and also averaging 12.7 PPG. The
tandem end their careers as two of only five players in the 42-year
history of the program to surpass 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 200
assists, and 100 steals.
