The University of Mary Washington men's swimming team is currently ranked second in the nation and the Eagle women are ranked eighth in the latest collegeswimming.com Avidasports performance rating, released Wednesday night. In addition to measuring a team’s performance against other programs, the Rankings also account for those programs trending upwards or downwards based on their past season performance, thus offering fans a statistical snapshot of team performance in each of the three college divisions.
Division III Women
Division III Men
The first indicator (Improvement) ranks teams based on improvement of an athlete’s time compared to in-season best times (the higher the percentage the better). See division rankings in parenthesis.
The second indicator (Percentile) ranks the teams based on their athletes’ times compared to other athletes in the same division in the same event (the lower the percentile the better). See division rankings in parenthesis.
Teams are then ranked (avg ranking) by averaging the team’s Improvement Ranking and Percentile Ranking for a final team ranking (the lower the average score the better).
