The University of Mary Washington softball team split a pair of games on Thursday in Myrtle Beach, S.C., running their record for the week to 7-1. The Eagles fell to Ursinus College, 6-0, before topping Blackburn College, 9-1.
In the loss to Ursinus, Amada Adams led the Eagles with three hits in four at bats, and Michelle Durnavich went 2-3. Freshman Hannah Otterman took the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits, with one walk and five strikeouts.
In the win over Blackburn, Koah Chitty was 2-3 with two runs scored, Morgan Lamon was 1-3 with three RBI, and Durnavich was 1-2 with two RBI. Hannah Williams went 2-3 with a run scored and one RBI. Julianne Sweat was 2-3 at the plate and gained the win by allowing five hits with one strikeout.
The Eagles will return to action on March 15 when they visit Bridgewater College at 3:00 p.m.
