UMW Rowing Teams Compete at Occoquan Chase Regatta

The University of Mary Washington women's and men's rowing teams competed at the Occoquan Chase Regatta this Sunday against some of the top crews in the nation.

The women's varsity eight finished a pair of boats, in 10th place and 13th place among 18 entrties. The women's open fours took 17th and 20th among 25 boats. The freshman four tooks econd among seven entries. The lightweight four took first unopposed and the women's open pair finished second among four boats.

For the men, the open eight finished eighth among 12 boats. The open fours finished in 12th and 13th place among 17 rides, and the open lightweight four finished third in its race of three boats.

The Eagles will return to action this Sunday at the Head of the Lafayette Regatta.
