University of Mary Washington's Alex Anderson and Nate Moyar highlighted day one of the Gettysburg College Final Fall Fast Festival on Friday night with NCAA B cuts in the 100 yard freestyle and 200 yard breaststroke for the UMW swim teams.
After one day of events, the Eagles women stand in second place, while the men are third. For the women, junior Amber Kerico finished second in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:25.55, Allison Martin was second in the 200 butterfly at 2:12.91 and Abby Cox was third at 2:12.98, and Jessica Singer was second in the mile at 17:52.03.
For the men, Anderson was fourth in a 100 free race that saw seven swimmers gain NCAA cuts at 45.82, while Moyar tied for first in the 200 yard breaststroke at 2:06.50. Nick Eckhoff was third in the 200 yard butterfly at 1:56.58, and Zach Eisig was third in the mile at 16:39.22.
The event will continue on Saturday.
