Junior Justin Carey and sophomore Idrissa Barrie each scored second half goals to lead the 25th ranked University of mary Washington men's soccer team to a 2-0 victory at York College of Pa. on Saturday in Capital Athletic Conference action. The Eagles improve to 9-2-1 overall, and 4-0 in CAC play.
After a scoreless first half, the Eagles scored in the opening minutes of the second half, as Carey scored at 46:38 on a Ryan Van Maanen assist. Barrie provided an insurance tally at 71:54 unassisted off of a turnover.
UMW led in shots, 14-8, and in corner kicks, 8-3. Senior Matt Spencer had five saves for the Eagles in goal, while Billy Bridegum had three for the Spartans.
The Eagles will be back in action on Wednesday when they visit Southern Virginia University at 7:00 p.m. for another CAC showdown.
