After a scoreless first half, the University of Mary Washington men's soccer team saw 18th ranked Salisbury University score three times in the second stanza in a 3-0 loss to the Sea Gulls on Saturday in Salisbury, Md. The Eagles fall to 7-4-2 overall and 2-2-1 in Capital Athletic Conference play.
Salisbury's Stafford Chiphungu scored at 56:53 on a Pat Callahan assist, and then SU's Mike Napolitano scored on a penalty kick at 61:37 to up the lead to 2-0. Ian Wilson capped the scoring at 83:06 on a header.
The Sea Gulls Hunter Wootten (Westhampton Beach, N.Y., Westhampton Beach) had six saves for the Eagles.
Mary Washington will return to action on Friday when they visit Stevenson University at 3:00 p.m. in a key CAC showdown.
