UMW Men's Soccer Falls at Hampden-Sydney, 2-1


The University of Mary Washington men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Hampden-Sydney College on Saturday in Farmville, Va. The Eagles fall to 8-4 overall on the season.

The Eagles took an early lead in the match as junior T.L. Tutor (Islesboro, Me., Gould Academy) scored at 14:30 unassisted. The Tigers tied the score at one at 32:00, and scored the game winner at 75:00.

Shots in the game were even, at 13-13. The Eagles had five corner kicks to three for the hosts. Emmett Rutkowski (Culpeper, Va., Culpeper) had six saves for the Eagles, while Hampden-Sydney's John Robert Plyler had five.

Mary Washington will visit Gettysburg College on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
