York, Pa.—The #13 University of Mary Washington men's lacrosse team was defeated by York, 13-9, on Saturday. The Eagles got behind early, and could not recover. The loss drops the Eagles to 14-3 on the year.

York got the scoring started with a James Lowe goal just two minutes in. John Bohlinger had the answer, as he found the back of the net just minutes later to tie the game at one all. A pair of York goals gave them back the lead, before Luke Dick scored to cut the deficit to 3-2. Greg Smith found the equalizer to make it 3-3 late. However, York scored twice at the end of the first to take a 5-3 lead after one.

The Spartans went on five goal spurt in the second to push ahead 10-3. Griffin Burke got a goal late in the second to make the deficit 10-4 at the half. Zack DelGrosso made eight first half saves for the Eagles.

Burke started where he left off in the second, scoring to open up the third. Luke Dick followed up with his second to cut the deficit to just four at 10-6. York would answer back with a Gamble goal to increase the lead back to five. After a Spartan turnover, Pittard finds the back of the net off a Dick pass to end the quarter trailing 11-7.

Luke Dick opens the fourth with a goal that just trickles past the Spartan keeper to cut the deficit to three, but York would answer. Off an Eagle turnover, Gamble finds the net once more to push it back to a four goal cushion at 12-8. Joey Marson scores with four minutes left to get it back down to three, at 12-9. A Spartan goal late in the fourth pushed the lead to 13-9 to seal the victory.
