UMW Men's Basketball Ranks 17th in D3Hoops.com National Poll

The University of Mary Washington men's basketball team, riding an eight-game win streak and 10-1 on the season, joined the national top 25 ranking in the D3Hoops.com poll, released this evening. UMW checks in at 17th in the nation, their highest national ranking since being ranked 17th in 2003.

The Eagles jumped into the rankings after receiving votes in the last poll of December 15. Since that time, UMW has defeated #10 Virginia Wesleyan, Randolph, and York College. The Eagles are one of four Capital Athletic Conference teams to gain a rank, as Christopher Newport ranks 14th, Wesley 16th, the Eagles 17th, and St. Mary's 21st.
