#22 UMW Baseball Falls at Bridgewater, 5-3

The 22nd ranked University of Mary Washington baseball team dropped a 5-3 decision at Bridgewater College on Monday afternoon. The Eagles fall to 16-8 on the season.

UMW was limited to just four hits in the game. Santino Rosanova (Laurel, Md., DeMatha) had a pair of hits, while frshman Ben Sisk (Chesterfield, Va., Cosby) hit a solo home run for UMW. Bridgewater scored four runs in the fourth and one in the fifth, while the Eagles scored twice in the fifth and once in the eighth.

On the mound, freshman Chris Somerville (Stafford, Va., Mountain View) took the loss, allowing two earned runs in three innings on two hits, with four walks and one strikeout. Dan Murdoch (Newtown, Conn., Newtown) allowed two earned runs on five hits in 1.2 innings, and Seth Taylor (Marshall, Va., Faquier) pitched 3.1 innings of hitless relief.

Mary Washington will host North Carolina Wesleyan College on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
