andersonwitek
YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington sophomore KYLE ANDERSON (New Milford, Conn./New Milford), Salisbury sophomore TREVOR KEEN (Crownesville, Md./Archbishop Spalding) and Mary Washington junior KRISTY WITEK (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) were selected as the CAC Cross Country Athletes of the Week for Sept. 15, 2009.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Mary Washington sophomore KYLE ANDERSON (New Milford, Conn./New Milford) and Salisbury sophomore TREVOR KEEN (Crownesville, Md./Archbishop Spalding) were named the CAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after crossing the finish line among the top runners in almost the exact same time in two different meets and leading their respective teams to championship performances.
Anderson was second across the finish line at the Washington & Lee Invitational, helping the Eagles place first in the eight-team event.  He covered the 8K course in 28:59.
Keen placed fourth overall in the Towson Invitational, primarily a meet of NCAA Division I and II runners, and helped the Sea Gulls to first place in the team standings.  He covered the 8K course, which was lengthened because of a fallen tree, in 28:57.

WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY
Mary Washington junior KRISTY WITEK (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) was selected as the CAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after leading the Eagles to the team championship at the Washington & Lee Invitational.  Witek placed first overall, covering the 5K course in 20:37, and led seven UMW runners into the Top 20 in the individual rankings.
