UMW Women's Lacrosse Places Five on All-Region Team

The University of Mary Washington women's lacrosse team has placed five players on the All-Chesapeake Region Teams, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association today. The Eagles saw freshmen Catherine Kennedy and Allie Kimmelman, as well as senior Emily Gallugi named to the first team, with freshman Jenny Atmar and sophomore Katie Wallis placed on the second team.
Kennedy, the CAC Rookie of the Year, scored 77 goals and added 12 assists on the year, while Kimmelman, a first team All-CAC selection, scored 43 goals and added 43 assists. Gallugi adds all-region kudos to first team all-conference honors as well.
Atmar was an anchor to the UMW midfield with 59 ground balls, 68 draw controls, and 47 caused turnovers, while Wallis scored 58 goals and added 20 assists.
All-America teams will be released on Friday.
